What Haka Team Building is
Haka Team Building is a corporate activity built on the force of movement, voice, attitude and collective action. Through a guided experience that works for any group, participants learn a choreography inspired by the haka and turn it into a shared experience of energy, connection and cohesion.
It is not about giving a cultural lecture or explaining the origins of the haka in depth. It is about using its expressive power as a tool to energise teams, strengthen the group’s presence and create a moment of high impact within a corporate event.
It is not about giving a cultural lecture or explaining the origins of the haka in depth. It is about using its expressive power as a tool to energise teams, strengthen the group’s presence and create a moment of high impact within a corporate event.
It works especially well when the aim is to pull the group out of its routine, lift the energy of the event and create an experience people genuinely remember.

The benefits of Haka Team Building for companies
The core principles of HAKA Team Building
Humility and service
Every member brings something unique, and success depends on collective commitment. We aim to leave a legacy that outlasts the day, with an impact that endures.
Character over talent
We value integrity, discipline and resilience as the pillars of collective success, building character to build solid teams.
Shared purpose
We foster commitment to common goals, because a clear purpose strengthens genuine, lasting team cohesion. The activity helps build a clear sense of unity and shared purpose.
Rituals and symbols
The HAKA is a ritual that reinforces collective identity and a sense of belonging, creating lasting emotional bonds within the team.
How can the activity be adapted to each team?
Format: competitive or cooperative
Cooperative format
The whole group goes through the experience together, guided by the facilitation team, until they build a shared final haka.
Team format
In the second half the group splits into teams to work on their own version of the haka, add their own elements and close with a more creative and dynamic final presentation.
Duration
We adapt to different contexts and events, and our experience tells us we can run the activity in a slot as short as 20 minutes. From there, depending on the format chosen, we can go from one hour in the cooperative format to two in the competitive one
Tailored messages
We think it matters a great deal to understand the context the activity will run in, so we can reinforce the message as much as possible: the why and the what for. We are happy to set up a video call to get to know your case
Add-ons
Sound system hire for groups of more than 40 pax

Strengthening Group Commitment
Overcoming social loafing with the HAKA
In large groups, social loafing can lead some members to put in less effort, trusting that others will pick up the responsibility. The HAKA counters that tendency by building personal commitment through specific, visible tasks.
Assigning clear tasks — learning the words, the choreography or the Ta Moko-style face paint — makes sure every member feels directly responsible for the group result.
// How the activity unfolds
The facilitator explains the origin and meaning of the Haka and why it matters to teamwork.
Visual banners make sure every member learns and fully understands the words.
Step-by-step teaching focused on the team's synchronisation and coordination
The full combination, to feel the power of acting as one team.
A creative activity in pairs to strengthen interpersonal bonds. Practical materials such as wipes and card with designs that show the care taken over every detail.
By the end, every participant will have strengthened their self-confidence, sense of belonging and awareness of their contribution to collective success, and will take away practical tools for carrying on building the organisation's culture.
Logistics and location
Logistics: we adapt to your event
We take care of everything: all we need is a space and we bring the rest. The most important thing is making sure the people leading the activity can be seen and heard, so that everyone can get the most out of it.
We run activities throughout Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Seville, the Balearics and the Canaries. And if you are outside our borders, we can reach you too. We travel to wherever the event is with all the equipment the activity needs.
Indoors or outdoors?
The activity works in both settings. For large groups we recommend an indoor space such as an open hall or an amphitheatre-style room, where everyone can see and hear the person leading the activity.
Sound
For groups of more than 35 people indoors, and ALWAYS outdoors, a sound system would be needed (with a headset or lapel microphone) to make sure everyone can follow the instructions clearly. If the client does not have one, we can hire it in for a supplement on the price of the activity
How are the words of the haka read?
The words of the HAKA can be read from roll-ups that we bring, and if the room has a screen, we can use it to make reading easier.
What's included?
Specialist facilitators, face paint and wipes, roll-ups with the words of the haka, and travel to your location. Optionally: 4K or drone video recording.
Where?
We travel anywhere in Spain: hotels, corporate headquarters, event estates, outdoor spaces. With bases in Madrid and Barcelona. Indoors and outdoors.
How long does it last?
From 30 minutes (an energiser version for conventions) to 120 minutes (the full experience with face paint and the competitive format). We adapt it to your event’s timing. It depends mainly on the option chosen: everyone together throughout, or the competitive format where we split into teams in the second half of the activity

//Frequently asked questions about Haka Team Building
Does the HAKA have a competitive option?
Yes, the HAKA can be run competitively. In the first half everyone learns the same HAKA together, which can be the close of the activity, with everyone painted performing the final HAKA. Then, once everyone has it down, they can split into teams, each one personalising its final presentation, finishing with a competitive showcase.
How many people can do Haka Team Building?
From a handful to thousands of people (watch this video); the HAKA activity can be run in different ways, depending on whether you choose to do it all together or split into teams.
How long does the Haka Team Building activity last?
Every meeting and every event has a different agenda and we aim to fit in, as long as the duration does not affect the result of the activity, in our judgement. Ideally you want between half an hour and two hours. On average, most activities run between one and two hours.
Who can do a Haka Team Building?
The workshop is suitable for everyone, whatever their age, sex or physical condition. All you need is the willingness to enjoy yourself and to do something outside your comfort zone.
Where can a Haka Team Building be held?
The activities are run on site, which means we travel to wherever the event is taking place. They can be indoor or outdoor spaces. We can help by sharing venues we have already worked in. We are specialists in what we do: running and creating artistic team building activities for companies.
The most important thing is making sure the people leading the activity can be seen and heard, so that everyone can get the most out of it.
